Members participate in and support projects in art, conservation, education, health, home life, international affairs and public affairs.
RAISE MONEY FOR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS: Raised over $2000 for USO in 2016. Raised $2000 for Easter Seals through Race and Telethon in 2017. Raised $2200 for St. Jude. Reclaim 13 in 2019 received over $2000. 2020 was cancelled but the recipient, children's cancer research, received $4500 in 2021. Raising money for Guardian Angel Services
Provide an art opportunity each month to residents at a local facility for adults with delayed development. Support domestic violence reduction events. Provide pro-social activities for Mental Health Court. Sell 911 safety address signs. Support awareness programs and organizations stopping as human trafficking and Click for Babies. Support New Beginnings women’s crisis center available to ALL women for ANY reason. Support local food bank, P.A.D.S. homeless shelters, and Micropantries. Support high school Redskin Helping Hands program with food and clothing donations. Develop and support self-esteem development projects for teens and young women. Support nutrition and health. Support I & M Canal Corridor. Support the arts through participation with the EXibit nonprofit Fine Art Center & Gallery, Morris Theater Guild, Liberty Arts Festival and more. Install and support Little Free Library and literacy. Sponsor a bridge marathon to provide scholarships for high school students to summer educational enrichment camps. Send sophomore students to Northern Illinois Leadership Seminar (NILS). Provide pro-social activities at nursing homes and Illinois Valley Industries. Plant and maintain flowers in Chapin Park and at Fire Bell Tower. Support and collect supplies for the Grundy County Animal Shelter. Support assorted other groups with projects. Plant trees in Shawnee National forest as memorials or honorariums. Provided an education to a young woman through Heifer International. Provided farming opportunities to international families. Provided graduation assistance for local alternative high school.

General Federation: Highlights
GFWC is responsible for the establishment of 70% of America's libraries, including the first traveling libraries.
Initiated annual Jane Cunningham-Croly GFWC Print Journalism Contest for "excellence in covering women's issues".
Jane Cunningham-Croly, GFWC founder, was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
Founded the GFWC Women's History and Resource Center. First women's organization to endorse the Peace Corps.
Initiated the programs: 'Safety for older Americans' and 'Alcohol/Drug Abuse Education for Women and Children'
Started Youth Suicide Prevention Program

Launched nationwide campaign for the improvement of school conditions and for compulsory attendance laws.
Supported first child labor law and helped establish reforms in juvenile court system.
Supported equal pay for equal work and legislation for 8 hour work day.
Instrumental in establishment of first Workers' Compensation Act.
Fought for property rights of married women and endorsed a resolution supporting equal rights and responsibilities for women.
Established and developed night schools for adults.
During 1943-1945 raised over $250 million through the sale of war bonds to purchase planes and equipment.
Local Club Historic Achievements
Established Fire Bell Park at Main and Wauponsee Streets.
Presented flagpole for Fireman's Memorial in Chapin Park.
Planted trees at the Courthouse and city parks.
Sold 911 reflective signs to donate to Morris Fire Department and provide $1000 scholarship to a high school senior volunteer woman.
Painted seasonal pictures on the windows at Morris Rehabilitation Home.
Donated empty medicine bottles to third world countries.
Developed a library for local alternative high school/middle school.
Provided thematic decorating at the local library for the summer reading program.
